NHLThe Topps Company has released its 2014 Topps U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Team and Hopefuls card set ahead of next year’s Socchi 2014 Olympics. The Winter series is a follow up to the London 2012 Summer series, the Topps U.S. Olympic Team and Olympic Hopefuls set.

As should be expected, several hockey players are featured in the multi-sport set, most notably Lake Placid 1980 Olympic gold medal heroes like Jim Craig and Mike Eruzione. Craig and Eruzione are featured in the Champions autograph insert series.

While there are no modern men’s ice hockey players (the set is fully licensed, but does not have the rights to NHLPA members), the 100-card base set features three hopefuls from the women’s ice hockey team: twins Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux and last year’s Canadian Women’s Hockey League Most Valuable Player Hilary Knight. There is also one sledge hockey player, Mr. Rico Roman.

Knight, who led the Boston Blades to a Clarkson Cup victory in 2013, was also scheduled to be featured in the autograph series.

All 100 base cards are also available in three different parallel variations (bronze, silver and gold). Card numbers are 51 Knight, 53 J.Lamoureux, 54 M.Lamoureux, and 73 Roman.
