Plymouth Whalers’ centre Tyler Seguin is the top-ranked Ontario League prospect on the National Hockey League Central Scouting’s preliminary ranking. Seguin ranked ahead of Windsor Spitfires’ winger Taylor Hall, who has been highly touted as the 2010 NHL Entry Draft’s potential top pick.

Hall’s potential has been well documented this past year, especially after he led the Spitfires to a Memorial Cup championship. Seguin, on the other hand, is very much a new name for collectors scouting next year’s potential rookie-card lineup. Seguin starred this summer on Canada’s U-18 team and is off to a quick start this 2009-10 OHL season.

There are nine items on the Taylor Hall Collector Index, including six new cards in the recently-released 2009-10 Ultimate Memorabilia series. Hall made his In The Game Heroes & Prospects debut back in 2007-08.

There is just one item on the Tyler Seguin Collector Index: a 2008-09 team-issued card from the Plymouth Whalers. Seguin is expected to make his In The Game Heroes & Prospects debut this January.
