The 25th edition of Upper Deck hockey cards will be available in early November, with the launch of Series One scheduled just ahead of the Fall 2014 Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo. As has become the tradition, Upper Deck Series One will feature the first rookie cards of freshmen that made their debut at the start of the new season.
At 25 consecutive seasons, the Upper Deck brand is the second-longest running hockey card series (1990-91 to 2014-15), slowly catching up to the record 36-consecutive seasons once set by the O-Pee-Chee brand (1957-58 to 1992-93).
On average, a 24-pack hobby box (with eight cards in each pack) will deliver six Young Guns rookie cards, two jersey cards, four Canvas cards, three Shining Stars inserts, and two Hockey Heroes inserts.
In a 12-box case, collectors will also find Clear Cut (acetate) inserts, Signature Sensations, and eight “big hitter” inserts like A Piece of History Jersey & Auto Jersey, Day With The Cup, Exclusives Spectrum #ed, Hockey Heroes Autos, Buybacks, and more.
