NHLThe Florida Panthers will distribute the second of six 2013-14 bobbleheads on Friday Jan. 24. The Pavel Bure bobble will be an in-game giveaway to the first 10,000 fans in attendance to the Panthers-Avalanche game.

The bobble series promotion coincides with the Panthers’ 20th anniversary. The series features five players and one general manager. The Vanbiesbrouck bobble is sponsored by FORD.

Earlier this year, the Panthers distributed John Vanbiesbrouck bobbles before the Dec. 13 home game. After the Olympics, the Panthers will celebrate Bobble Nights for Tim Thomas (Mar. 9), Dale Tallon (Mar. 14), Scott Mellanby (Mar. 16), and Brian Skrudland (Apr. 4).

Bure enjoyed back-to-back 50-goal seasons with the Florida Panthers at the turn of the century. He was an NHL Second Team All-Star and Maurice Richard Trophy winner in both 1999-2000 and 2000-01. He was also the MVP of the NHL All-Star Game in 2000 (playing on a line with brother Valeri).

Bure joined the Panthers in January 1999 in a trade with the Canucks; he was later traded to the New York Rangers in March 2002. After his playing career, Bure became an honoured member of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.

This 2013-14 season, other NHL teams like the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild have also distributed hockey bobbles.
