Panini America has shared some of the sights and sounds from the 2011 NHLPA Rookie Showcase via its online website, The Lance’s Knight. The company is in Toronto this 29-30 August with 26 potential rookies for the upcoming 2011-12 NHL season.
While Monday was reserved for autograph sessions (see video below), Tuesday was reserved for photography both on and off the ice. Each prospect still has to make his NHL debut before the NHLPA can give the green light for Panini America and the Upper Deck Company to produce cards of that rookie.
Panini America, the Upper Deck Company and EA Sports are all taking part in the 2011 NHLPA Rookie Showcase. As you would expect, both the NHL (NHL.com) and NHLPA (NHLPA.com) are also on hand.
This is the third year for the NHLPA Rookie Showcase. The event provides NHL-NHLPA trading card manufacturers Panini America and Upper Deck Company with an all-in-one photo session to capture potential rookies for the 2011-12 hockey card season. All 27 rookies will be wearing their respective NHL uniforms. This year’s event features rookie prospects and top draft picks from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (including first-overall pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins).
