Posted on 25th September 2012 by hockeymedia in Cards,Signings,The Want List

NHLPanini America has begun the process of acquiring “hard-signed” autographs for the upcoming 2012-13 Classics signature series. The new brand will promise one signature card in every pack. The series features retired hockey players.

Wrote Tracy Hackler (poetically), “Classics Signatures is a timeless tribute to the greatest and most popular retired hockey players of all time that packs an old-school design aesthetic and tons of on-card autographs.”

While a checklist has yet to be released, some of the Hockey Hall of Fame honoured members previewed for inclusion in the autograph series are Rob Blake, Johnny Bower, Gerry Cheevers, Bobby Clarke, Paul Coffey, Phil Esposito, Tony Esposito, Bernie Federko, Grant Fuhr, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Jari Kurri, Guy Lafleur, Mario Lemieux, Mark Messier, Adam Oates, Gilbert Perreault, Steve Shutt and Steve Yzerman.

“After a huge shipment of freshly printed Classics Signatures cards were delivered to Panini America HQ, the company’s NHL team began the massive undertaking of preparing those cards for shipment to the vast and varied list of former NHL stars who will sign them.”

2012-13 Classics Signatures is expected to be released in November of this year. To view pictures from the pack-out project, please visit Panini America’s The Knight’s Lance.
