NHLCardboard Connection and hockeyMedia (The Want List) promoted hockey cards and the upcoming National Hockey Card Day during a one-hour Twitter “tweetchat” on Thursday Feb. 7. The online discussion started at 9pm Eastern / 6pm Pacific using the hashtag #NHCD (https://twitter.com/#nhcd).

The #NHCD tweetchat promoted the upcoming National Hockey Card Day, which runs Saturday Feb. 9 at sports collector stores across Canada (which also happens to be Hockey Day in Canada). A second National Hockey Card Day in the United States runs one week later on Feb. 16. Both events are supported by a unique (and free) hockey card set promoted by the Upper Deck Company.

During the hour, three yet-to-be seen autograph card images from the Saturday National Hockey Card Day set were revealed. Also at the end of the hour, Cardboard Connection and The Want List co-select one “favourite” tweet from a Canadian twitter follower. The winner won a box of 2012-13 NHL SP Game-Used Edition courtesy the Upper Deck Company.

Discussion topics included the upcoming National Hockey Card Day promotion, thoughts of the new hockey card season, rookies and the rookie card market, and ideas for new hockey cards.

Collectors were encouraged to join the conversation using the hashtag #NHCD as well as the popular collecting hashtag #collect. For more information, collectors were asked to follow @tradercracks, @hockeymedia and @upperdeckhockey.
