A new 600-card O-Pee-Chee hockey card series has been published by the Upper Deck Company. The new 2014-15 series was released on Thursday Sep. 4, just over one month before the start of the new NHL season.
This marks the ninth year that the Upper Deck Company has produced the O-Pee-Chee hockey card brand out of Carlsbad, CA, USA. The popular series was first introduced more than 80 years ago by the O-Pee-Chee Co. Ltd. out of London, ON, Canada in 1933-34.
The new 2014-15 series is again sold in eight-card packs, with 32 packs in each hobby box. The base set again features Marquee Rookies and Marquee Legends (cards 501-600) while again all 600 cards are repeated in a one-per-pack Retro series.
Along with 16 Marquee base cards and 32 Retro cards, a typical hobby box features eight Rainbow Foil parallels, 10 O-Pee-Chee Stickers, and two mini O-Pee-Chee V Series A inserts. If you are lucky, you will pull one or more special inserts in your box as a bonus.
From a 12-box case, there should be four Team Logo Patch cards (one of which will be a High Series Short Print), two O-Pee-Chee Signatures, and one O-Pee-Chee Team Canada Signature.
For the third year in a row, Canadian collectors are also encouraged to save and redeem their pack wrappers. Fifty wrappers can be redeemed for a six-card O-Pee-Chee Red pack.
