NHLThe Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks have unveiled their hockey jerseys that will be worn for the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series outdoor game in the new year. The outdoor game will be played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Jan. 25, 2014.

Other Stadium Series games this 2013-14 NHL season will be played in Chicago and New York. Also in the new year, the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic will take place in Detroit while the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic will take place in Vancouver. For these games, special jerseys have been unveiled by the New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks.

Both the Kings and Ducks jerseys feature chrome treatment to the logo (as did the Islanders jersey). According to the league press release, the chrome is inspired from “details in the NHL shield, bringing a dynamic and modern perspective to conventional team identities. The chrome crest was developed using new technology that fuses print and embroidery and allows logos to be displayed as a high-resolution image incorporated into the crest. This technology also reduces the weight of the crest, resulting in a lightweight jersey for improved athlete performance.”

The Kings and Ducks both play in the state of California in the United States. While the Kings joined the NHL in 1967-68, the Ducks joined the NHL in 1993-94. This 2013-14 season, the Ducks are celebrating their 20th anniversary.
