Hockey celebrates 2009 Hall of Fame class
The hockey community celebrates the 2009 Hockey Hall of Fame class in Toronto on Mon. Nov. 9. Legends Brett Hull, Brian Leetch, Luc Robitaille and Steve Yzerman as well as builder Lou Lamoriello will all be inducted at an evening ceremony at the Hockey Hall of Fame & Museum.
Hull was a two-time Stanley Cup champion and one-time Hart Trophy winner as the league’s most valuable player. Leetch was a one-time Stanley Cup champion and one-time Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff’s most valuable player. Robitaille was a one-time Stanley Cup champion who retired as the league’s all-time leading scorer amongst left wingers. Yzerman was a three-time Stanley Cup champion and one-time Olympic champion.
Plenty of collectibles exist of all four heroes. In fact, since all four players starred in the 1990s at the time of the sport-card explosion, their Collector Indexes are amongst the biggest in hockey history. Those totals are 2,827 Brett Hull items, 2,320 Brian Leetch items, 1,829 Luc Robitaille items, and 3,781 Steve Yzerman items.
