Gold Medal Auctions launches first memorabilia auction

NHLThere are more than 200 hockey items in the inaugural Gold Medal Sports & Collectibles Auction. The multi-sport auction runs Jan. 21 to Feb. 20, 2014.

“In partnership with AJ Sports World, Gold Medal Auctions is proud to announce the launch of their inaugural sports and collectibles auction,” wrote Gold Medal auctions in a note to collectors. “With over 400 lots available – including many one-of-a-kind and extremely rare collectibles – this auction is truly a collector’s fantasy.”

Game-worn jerseys included in this first auction are a Flyers Eric Lindros gamer, an NHL All-Star Dion Phaneuf gamer, an Oshawa General John Tavares gamer, and a Stars Joe Nieuwendyk gamer.

The auction also includes hockey cards, publications, signed contracts, game-used sticks and equipment, trophies, and stadium relics. A couple of items of note are a 1910 Sweet Caporal Fred “Cyclone” Taylor hockey card (graded PSA-5 EX) and a Pittsburgh Penguins seat signed by Mario Lemieux.

There will be a 15% buyer’s premium added on all final lots in the auction.
