NHLGame-worn hockey jerseys will again get the cut in the annual edition of Panini Prime hockey cards. The new 2013-14 edition is scheduled for a June 2014 release.

This year marks the third edition of the NHL brand, although it has been around longer for other sports. The brand actually made its debut as “Playoff Prime” in the mid 1990s (football), but it was only after the millennium that the brand became such a memorabilia-heavy brand (be it called Prime Patches, Prime Cuts, or simply Prime).

As noted by Panini America brand manager Chris Barr last year, Panini Prime “provides the most unique memorabilia cards in the hobby – unlike other brands where the autographs and rookies are the drivers, we try to make the memorabilia the main star of the card.”

Previous Panini Prime hockey card editions were released in 2011-12 and 2012-13.
