The first 2013 rookie photos have been issued via NHL-NHLPA licensee Photo File. The photos are available via the company’s website photofile.com or via collector stores in Canada and USA.
Collecting 2013 rookies has been a hot debate this month after the NHLPA and its hockey card licensees agreed to withhold this year’s rookie crop from 2012-13 hockey card sets. As such, collectors have to wait until August to collect Nail Yakupov, Vladimir Tarasenko and Mikael Granlund rookie cards.
Fortunately, other NHL-NHLPA licenses have the green light to produce rookie collectibles this hockey season. Along with licensed photos, hockey fans can collect their favourite rookies via team giveaways, bobbles, figures, posters, shirts and games, not to mention valuable and authentic game-used jerseys.
