The Florida Panthers will distribute the fourth of six 2013-14 bobbleheads on Friday Mar. 14. The Panthers Dale Tallon bobbles will be an in-game giveaway to the first 10,000 fans in attendance to the Panthers-Devils game.
The Panthers’ 2013-14 bobble series promotion coincides with the Panthers’ 20th anniversary. The series features five players and one general manager. The Tallon bobble is sponsored by FORD.
Earlier this year, the Panthers celebrated Bobble Nights for John Vanbiesbrouck (Dec. 13), Pavel Bure (Jan. 24) and Tim Thomas (Mar. 9). Still to come, the Panthers will distribute Scott Mellanby bobbles on March 16 and Brian Skrudland bobbles on Apr. 4.
Tallon has been general manager of the Panthers since 2010-11. He previously filled the same role with the Chicago Blackhawks from 2005-06 to 2008-09 (a team that went on to win the Stanley Cup in 2010). He is a former NHL player who played with the expansion Vancouver Canucks, the Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins.
This 2013-14 season, other NHL teams like the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild have also distributed hockey bobbles.
