The Chicago Blackhawks will distribute 10,000 Marian Hossa bobbleheads on Sunday afternoon before the Blackhawks-Blues games on February 19, 2012. The bobble is sponsored by Lemonhead.
This marks the Blackhawks’ third of six Bobble giveaway promotions this 2011-12 season. Already distributed earlier this season were bobbles of Corey Crawford (Oct. 25) and Joel Quenneville (Jan. 12). Still to come are Bobble Days for Patrick Kane (February 23), Dave Bolland (March 9) and Jonathan Toews (March 21).
Hossa, now in his third season with the Blackhawks, has scored 57 points in 58 games this 2011-12 season. Just last month, he took part in the mid-season NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa, the city in which he made his NHL debut in 1997-98. In between his stints with the Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks, he has also played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings. After reaching (but losing) the Stanley Cup final with the Penguins (2008) and Red Wings (2009), he won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010.
This is not the first Hossa bobble distributed by the Blackhawks: two seasons ago on Jan. 13, 2010, the Blackhawks distributed 10,000 Hossa bobbles before a Blackhawks-Ducks game. That 2009-10 bobble was sponsored by AT & T.
