Blackhawks Stanley Cup merchandise goes on sale

NHLThe Chicago Blackhawks won their second Stanley Cup title in four years, winning the 2013 playoff championship in six games over the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks won the title on Monday June 24 in Boston.

Within minutes of captain Jonathan Toews lifting the Cup, commemorative merchandise was available for sale via nhl.com. A television advertisement (with a “1-800″ phone number) was also featured on the CBC Hockey Night broadcast.

Over 200 items were available immediately in the Blackhawks Champions collection, from jerseys, hats and player apparel to commemorative pucks, towels and glasses.

Included in the collection are the grey-and-black Stanley Cup Champions hats and white Gatorade towels worn by the players during the on-ice celebration.

The Blackhawks previously won the Stanley Cup in 1934, 1938, 1961 and 2010.
