Mr. Mullen played for the St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins. He wore number 7 for nearly all of his NHL career, although he wore number 11 in Boston. He scored more than 500 goals in his NHL career.
Mr. Mullen also was a two-time winner of the Lady Byng Trophy for his sportsmanship and high level of play. He became an honoured member of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000.
