“Terrible” Ted Lindsay will sign autographs on Saturday Aug. 22 at A.J. Sports World in Vaughan, ON. Hockey fans can meet Mr. Lindsay from 12:00 to 2:00 at the A.J. Sports World store located at 2720 Steeles Avenue. Autographs cost $25 each (any item).

Lindsay was a four-time Stanley Cup champion with the Detroit Red Wings, winning the National Hockey League playoff title in 1950, 1952, 1954 and 1955. He was the first player to score a hat trick in the NHL All-Star Game (1950). He was also the first Red Wings’ player to win the Art Ross Trophy (1949-50), doing so just before linemate Gordie Howe won four-straight NHL scoring titles.

The first president of the National Hockey League Players’ union (the one that wasn’t recognized by the NHL), he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1957. After three years in Chicago, he retired after the 1959-60 season as the league’s all-time leader in games played (999 games). He came out of retirement five years later to play one more time with the Detroit Red Wings.

Lindsay, now 84 years old, became an honoured member of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.
