As many as 30 hockey rookies could make their NHL debut in the opening weekend of the 2013 season. Those 30 debutants have made the final cut before the start of the new season and have been listed on the NHL Opening-Day Rosters published on Saturday, Jan. 19.
Once they make their debut, they will be eligible to appear on NHL-NHLPA licensed memorabilia, including team giveaways, bobbles, figures, photos, posters, shirts and games. The 2013 debutants are not eligible, however, to appear on hockey cards until the 2013-14 sets are released in the summer (as per an agreement between Panini America and the Upper Deck Company).
Hockey collectors will also be able to chase authentic game-used jerseys of the 30 debutants, be it via The MeiGray Group and other game-used jersey suppliers or direct via the NHL teams and their charity auctions.
