NHLPanini America has revealed designs and checklists for the 2013-14 rookie redemption cards from the 2012-13 Certified and 2012-13 Limited hockey card series. The original trade cards were seeded in packs last hockey season, but the redemption cards could only be created this year.

“Most collectors will recall that Panini America inserted 15 Rookie Redemption Cards into 2012-13 Certified Hockey (for individual players) and 30 Rookie Redemption Cards into 2012-13 Limited Hockey (for specific teams) as a way to capitalize on the excitement of the 2013-14 Panini Double Rookie Class,” wrote Tracy Hackler via The Knight’s Lance. “Now that the 2013 NHL draft picks have had time to make their mark on NHL ice, Panini America’s NHL product team has constructed custom checklists for both redemption programs combining the top rookies from 2012-13 and 2013-14.”

The 2012-13 Certified hockey cards were released in November 2012 while the 2012-13 Limited hockey cards were released one month later in December. The redemption cards are expected to be shipped in February 2014.

These two redemption programs were put on hold last year after the National Hockey League Players’ Association and its two licensed hockey card manufacturers agreed to hold back new 2013 rookies until the 2013-14 hockey card sets were released.

Images for the 45 rookie redemption cards have been posted on The Knight’s Lance. The rare Certified cards are numbered to 99 copies while the Limited cards (which feature two, three or four players) are numbered to 499 copies.
