New Score hockey cards released

Posted on 22nd August 2012 by hockeymedia in Cards,The Want List

NHLThe new 2012-13 Score hockey card set was released at collector stores in Canada and USA. The Score series, released on August 22, is Panini America’s first hockey card brand of the 2012-13 collecting season.

This marks the third year that the Score brand has been produced by Panini America. It is, however, the 11th Score hockey set produced: eight editions were previously produced by Score/Pinnacle from 1990-91 to 1997-98. While there are 548 cards in the basic set, there are in fact more than 1,800 cards (including parallels) featured in the 2012-13 brand.

A hobby box of 2012-13 Score hockey includes 36 packs with seven cards in every pack. Hobby packs cost about $1 each, so by far the least expensive brand in the hobby (half the cost of a pack of O-Pee-Chee). Every hobby pack includes at least one parallel variation, so you’ll get approximately 200 base cards (from the 548-card base set) in your 36-pack hobby box.
