Post back with a third CHL card series for 2014-15

Posted on 29th October 2014 by hockeymedia in Collectibles,The Want List | Tags:

NHLPost Cereal and the Canadian Hockey League have teamed up for a third year in a row to produce a series of hockey cards. This year’s set is promoted through family-sized boxes of Honeycomb, Sugar-Crisp, Shreddies, Honey Shreddies and Alpha-Bits.

At the heart of the promotion is the 24-card 2014-15 Post hockey set, which is actually collected via six sets of four cards. Fans will find the necessary details on specially-marked Post Cereal boxes.

“We at Post Foods share a passion for hockey with millions of Canadians from coast to coast,” said David Bagozzi, Director of Marketing, Post Foods Canada. “Which is why we are once again thrilled to partner with the CHL to showcase the best and brightest major junior hockey stars with a collector’s series available on the backs of your favourite cereals.”

“The CHL is pleased that its partnership with Post Foods Canada has once again resulted in the unique, fan favourite cereal box promotion,” said CHL President David Branch. “We are proud to bring focus to our student athletes and rising stars to breakfast tables across the country this season.”

As part of the promotion, there are also six collectible cereal boxes, each featuring a different CHL star. The six featured players are Aaron Ekblad, Sam Bennett, Nicolas Petan, Jake Virtanen, Jérémy Roy and Nikolaj Ehlers.

Leaf / In The Game redemption cards at Fall 2014 Expo

Posted on 25th October 2014 by hockeymedia in Cards,Shows,The Want List | Tags:

NHLIn The Game and Leaf Trading Cards have announced plans for a special redemption program at the Fall 2014 Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo. The program “allows collectors to redeem 2012-13 and 2013-14 products bought at certified dealers.”

The redeemed memorabilia cards are stamped “Fall Expo 1/1″.

“The hockey trading card market has become saturated with too many products being released in short period of time,” said Brian Gray, President of Leaf Trading Cards. “This hurts collectors, dealers and distributors. As the new kid on the block in this segment of the hobby, I wanted to do something about it. So I have created an exciting Redemption Program for the Fall Expo with help of Universal Distribution, Prince Wholesale and The Hockey Connection to help dealers and distributors sell already released products while delivering some great Redemption Cards for collectors. A win-win-win.”

Said Dr. Brian Price, President of In The Game, “this program is a little twist on past Redemption Programs. This program only allows product purchased from Certified Dealers at the Fall Expo to be redeemed but we are going back two years, we have never done this before. It should result in a crowd at the Redemption Table at In The GameLand but it will also reduce the inventory levels of all these products in the marketplace.”

ABOUT THE SPORTCARD & MEMORABILIA EXPO
This year’s Fall 2014 Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo runs Nov. 7-9 at the Toronto International Centre in Mississauga, ON (just a few kilometres away from the Toronto Pearson International Airport). The show is billed as North America’s largest hockey collector’s show. For more information on the show, please visit sportcardexpo.com.
