MeiGray launches 2013-14 Game-Worn Jersey program

NHLThe MeiGray Group has announced its 2013-14 MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program. The program was launched with the start of the new National Hockey League season.

This marks the 11th season that the NHL and MeiGray have worked together on its Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program. For the 2013-14 campaign, MeiGray has agreements with nine NHL teams: Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals.

MORE FROM MEIGRAY
One of the features of the program is the ability to pre-order your game-worn jersey.

Because of our authenticity and security tagging procedures you can order your game-worn jersey now, watch your jersey as it is being worn on the ice, and then receive it after we obtain the jersey from the team.

Each team has structured its individual game-worn jersey program with MeiGray to best suit its fans and the collecting public.

Our program details remain the same as last season:

* Once the jerseys are available and posted, you can pre-order a jersey online at meigray.com, or by calling us toll-free at 888-463-4472.

* Jerseys available for pre-order online will appear with PRE-ORDER after the Game Type.

* A 25% deposit will hold any jersey until it arrives at MGG. Balances WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY PROCESSED with the same credit card used for the deposit and jerseys will be shipped when they arrive unless the collector specifically notifies MGG to call or e-mail before processing. And in those cases, payment must be made within 10 days of notification or deposit will be forfeited.

* Refunds will not be given on cancelled pre-orders. You may change from one pre-ordered jersey to another, or you can use your deposit without penalty on an individual in-stock retail-priced item of equal or greater value. Only one deposit can be used on an in-stock item if you choose to exchange a pre-order.

* EXCEPTION: Full refunds will be given on pre-orders that cannot be fulfilled by the team or MGG due to non-delivery of the jersey, unavailability of the jersey due to circumstances out of the team or MGG’s control, if a player does not play in the jersey, or if the jersey is retained by the club for historical purposes, or if the jersey cannot be made available due to NHL game circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

As we have been reaching out to each team to plan its inventory, special events, and set dates, we will begin posting team-by-team updates throughout the month.

MeiGray regularly talks to non-program teams about joining or rejoining our program. Announcements regarding additions to the 2013-14 lineup will be made if a team joins or re-joins the program.

Authenticity and Security-Tagging Process

Remains the same as in past seasons. All jerseys are pre-tagged with individual serial numbers, and jerseys are checked post-use by MGG to confirm use as reported by the teams.

Team Reporting Procedures to MGG

Remains the same as in past seasons. Team report the tag numbers as the sets are worn, and update MGG with relevant set information.

Customer Requests/Pre-Ordering

We have on file the team-by-team Customer Request lists, and have begun calling all collectors who have requested the opportunity to Pre-Order 2013-14 jerseys. Once we complete the request calls, we post the available Set 1 jerseys for pre-order on our website.

We will continue to offer our unparalleled level of customer service. We will continue to ensure absolute authenticity because we still maintain the ability to security-check the teams with whom we’re working. We will continue to track the jerseys so you know what was worn, and when.
Thanks for your continued business and loyalty.

We look forward to continuing the high authenticity standards MGG established in 1997 and brought to the NHL in 2002.

Raymond Bourque to sign at Frozen Pond store on Wednesday

Posted on 12th August 2013 by hockeymedia in Signings,Stores,The Want List | Tags: ,

Hockey legend Raymond Bourque will sign autographs this Wednesday at the Frozen Pond hockey memorabilia store. The one-hour signing will take place from 6-7pm at the Frozen Pond store in Concord, Ontario, just north of Toronto. For more information, collectors are encouraged to contact the store at 905.760.8404.

The Bourque signing was originally scheduled for June 19, but the Bruins appearance in the 2013 Stanley Cup final meant Bourque needed to reschedule his Frozen Pond date for this coming August 14. Bourque, of course, was a long-time member of the Boston Bruins.

The prices for Bourque autographs are $49 for flat items or $65 for bulky items. An additional $10 will be charged for an inscription.

Bourque played for the Bruins from 1979-80 to 1999-2000. He became the team’s co-captain in 1985-86 and then team captain in 1986-87. While he reached the Stanley Cup final twice with the Bruins, he did not win a playoff title until joining the Colorado Avalanche (2001).

After his retirement, Bourque became an honoured member of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004.

Ahead of the Bourque public signing, there is a Bourque VIP Meet & Greet starting at 5pm. The Bourque VIP package is $499.

Since 1993, Frozen Pond has established itself as the number one source for quality autograph hockey collectibles.

Undrafted rookie Krug a hockey hobby favourite

Posted on 20th June 2013 by hockeymedia in Rookies,The Want List | Tags: ,

NHLIf you haven’t heard of Boston Bruins’ rookie Torey Krug, then keep reading. In a recent The Knight’s Lance blog, Panini America noted that cards of the undrafted defenceman are selling “roughly 50 percent higher than that of fellow rookies Chris Kreider, Sven Baertschi, Jaden Schwartz, Jakob Silfverburg and Jake Allen.”

Krug is currently in the Stanley Cup final, trying to help the Bruins win their second title in three years. Three weeks ago, he was voted “top rookie at the halfway point of this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs” by nhl.com writers. Before the final round, he had six points and 13 blocked shots in nine playoff games.

“The power of being on the Bruins combined with Krug having a strong playoff run is a huge reason behind his place at the top,” said Karvin Cheung, Panini America’s NHL Product Development Director.

Two years ago, Krug was the (college division) CCHA Player of the Year and a finalist for the NCAA Hobey Baker Award. Born in Livonia, Michigan, the 22-year old defender played three seasons at Michigan State University before turning pro with the Boston Bruins.

He spent the bulk of the 2012-13 season with the American League’s Providence Bruins, but has become a regular with the Boston Bruins in the NHL playoffs.

When the signing takes place, the Bourque pricing will be $49 for flat items or $65 for bulky items. An additional $10 will be charged for an inscription.
