IceHogs jersey auction launches Sunday

NHLThe Rockford IceHogs will host their 14th annual jersey auction game on Sunday Apr. 7, 2013. For the IceHogs AHL home game (against the Peoria Rivermen), the team will wear special “Abrahammy Lincoln” jerseys that will sold via auction after the game.

Also before the game, the IceHogs will distribute an Abrahammy Lincoln coin to the first 2,500 fans in attendance.

The white uniforms feature blue stripes with stars in between, on both sleeves and through the middle of the jersey. The crest of the sweater also features the words “In Hammy We Trust” arched across the middle of the logo. The concept was created by Lincoln Middle School students, Madie Miller and Monica Bautista, whose design was selected after a contest was held in art classes at Lincoln Middle School.

Immediately following the game on April 7, the team will hold a live auction out on the BMO Harris Bank Center ice where fans can bid on the specialty jerseys. All proceeds from the jersey auction go to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. Some of the jersey auction beneficiaries include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts of America, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Rockford and Jr. IceHogs.

Last year’s Viva RockVegas jersey auction raised $30,512 and during the team’s 13 auctions since being founded in 1999, the annual jersey auction night has totaled $644,270 with all proceeds staying in the Rockford community.

Phantoms Third Jersey auction via eBay

NHLThe Adirondack Phantoms Third Jersey auction will run through this Sunday Apr. 7 via the American League team’s eBay auction site. The auction features 20 game-worn jerseys from the 2012-13 season.

The Phantoms are the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers. The Phantoms Third Jersey features the same orange colour design as the parent Flyers.

MeiGray promotes AHL Outdoor Classic auction

NHLThe MeiGray Group and the American League have offered unique memorabilia items from the 2013 AHL Outdoor Classic which took place on Jan. 20, 2013 in Hershey, PA. The auction includes game-worn jerseys, game-issued jerseys, locker room nameplates, and practice jerseys.

The auction runs through Feb. 12, 2013. It features items from both the AHL Outdoor Classic and the Alumni Game played one day earlier.

AHL Authentic launches AHL All-Star game jersey auction

NHLThe American Hockey League has launched its 2013 All-Star Game auction. The auction begins Jan. 28 and runs throughout the month of February, with new items added daily. Fans can access the AHL auction at theahl.com/ahl-authentic-p140115.

Items included in the auction are warm-up jerseys, game jerseys, skill competition jerseys, helmets, gloves, pucks and name plates. The game jerseys start at $250. All items will be accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity.

The 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts AHL All-Star Classic runs Jan. 27-28, with the Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 27 and the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 28. This year’s mid-season showcase takes place in Providence, RI.

Americans host Hometown Heroes Day

NHLFans can bid on game-used jerseys worn at the Rochester Americans home game on Monday, Jan. 21. The jerseys feature a special “Hometown Heroes Day” patch in honour of the West Webster Fire Department. Details on the auction are available via the club’s official website, amerks.com.

The Americans are “all first responders such as police officers, fire fighters, and emergency medical technicians.” The Rochester Americans host the Hamilton Bulldogs on Jan. 21 at 1:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.

To honour the victims and those affected by the tragic shootings that took place in Webster, N.Y. on Dec. 24, the Amerks will wear a West Webster Fire Department patch on their jerseys during the game against Hamilton. The jerseys will then be auctioned off online, with the proceeds going to the West Webster Fire Department.

The Rochester Police Foundation will also be on hand throughout the day to raise funds and awareness for its cause. The Rochester Police Foundation was formed in 2012 to foster public safety, excellence in law enforcement, and a positive relationship between RPD and the community it serves. Dedicated in partnership with RPD, the Rochester Police Foundation works with a range of business and civic leaders, and community safety advocates on public safety initiatives, community and youth outreach programs, and crime prevention programs

At the conclusion of the game between the Amerks and Bulldogs, all fans are invited to stay and watch the exhibition game between the Rochester Police Department and Rochester Fire Department. Members of the Amerks Alumni Association, including Jody Gage, Scott Metcalfe, Rory Fitzpatrick, Jim Wiemer, Ray Maluta, Brian McKinnon, Daryl Drader, Steve Langdon and Ken Soble will suit up for the teams as well.

The Amerks are also offering all First Responders a complimentary ticket to the Hometown Heroes Game. Amerks Prostate Awareness jersey auction

NHLThe American League’s Rochester Americans are hosting a game-worn jersey auction in support of Prostate Awareness. The jersey auction runs through Jan. 20, 2013.

Proceeds from the auction benefit Zerocancer.org and the Lipson Cancer Center. Game jerseys were worn by the Americans in the Jan. 10 game against the Bulldogs.

The Amerks and U.A.R. are once again partnering to raise both funds and awareness for prostate cancer. As part of the initiative, the Amerks will wear special-edition jerseys to promote men’s health awareness. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase these jerseys through a silent auction to be held during the game on The Blue Cross Arena concourse. Following the game, the winners will be able to take the ice and be presented with a “jersey off the back” from the Amerks players. There will also be an online portion of the auction at the auction section of NHL.com, with more details to be announced at a later date. All proceeds from the “jersey off the back” promotion will go to www.ZeroCancer.org , The Project to End Prostate Cancer, and The Lipson Cancer Center.

Albany Devils game-worn jersey sale

NHLThe Albany Devils have put their 2011-12 game-worn jerseys up for sale starting this week. Season-ticket holders will get a one-day head start on Nov. 29 before the general public can partake in the sale on Nov. 30, 2012.

On Thursday, fans can purchase the game-worn jerseys at the Devils Executive Offices or by calling 518-4-DEVILS. On Friday, fans can purchase the gamers at the Devils Team Store starting at 5pm before the Devils-St. John’s IceCaps game. Online orders will begin via the team website in early December.

The Albany Devils game-worn jerseys cost $250-375.

St. John’s IceCaps honour Canadian Forces

NHLThe St. John’s IceCaps will honour the Canadian Forces with their Military Appreciation Night on Nov. 16, 2012. The players will wear a special military-themed jersey, six of which “will be available in a special ticket draw during the current six-game home stand. Fans can purchase tickets on the main concourse for $2 each or three for $5, with the prize draws taking place during the final game of the home stand on Sunday, Nov. 25.”

“The IceCaps organization is extremely humbled to honour all of those past and present who selflessly serve all Canadians,” said IceCaps President and CEO Danny Williams. “The sacrifices made by members of our military should never be forgotten and we are proud to dedicate this special evening in recognition of their service.

“We are forever indebted to them and we hope this small gesture of remembrance will inspire those serving our country today.”

In addition to special uniforms, the military presence will extend inside and outside Mile One Centre. There will be two vehicles parked outside the building prior to the game for fan viewing, and a special demonstration by military personnel during the first intermission.

Brigadier General Anthony Stack and Commander Larry Trim will join Mr. Williams on ice for a pre-game introduction and ceremonial puck drop. There will also be two military personnel carrying the American and Canadian flags on ice.

Admirals predict elections with Bobbles poll

NHLThe Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League took a “straw poll” in advance of the upcoming presidential elections in the United States. The Admirals offered Barack Obama and Mitt Romney bobble heads to their fans on Friday, November 2, with fans given the choice as to which bobble they would like.

“Romney won the poll by 72 bobbleheads, good for a 50% to 47.3% victory,” wrote the Admirals after the poll. “While it can not be confirmed, it has been reported by numerous outlets that President Obama has called to congratulate Governor Romney on this milestone win.”

Each hockey bobble was limited to just 2,500 copies. Romney is featured in the Admirals black jersey while Obama is featured in the Admirals white jersey. The bobbles are sponsored by Robert Haack Diamonds while the “elections poll” was conducted with WisPolitics.com.

The Bears produced a stunning brown and white Vintage striped, uniquely crested and patched 75th Anniversary road jersey that they wore in their first two road games.

The Bears wore this special “75th Anniversary” brown jersey in their 4-3 loss on October 13, 2012 to the Syracuse Crunch at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter and again on October 19, 2012 in their 3-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
