Young NHL defencemen Drew Doughty and P.K. Subban will sign autographs just north of Toronto at Frozen Pond in Concord, ON and A.J. Sports World in Vaughan, ON on Tue. Aug. 31. Doughty will sign from 6pm-7:30pm at Frozen Pond while Subban will sign from 7-7:30pm at A.J. Sports World.

The in-store fees for Doughty autographs is $40-$50. Doughty is an Olympic champion, having won a gold medal at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Doughty plays professional hockey for the Los Angeles Kings. The in-store fees for Subban autographs is $25-$35. Subban made his NHL debut this past season with the Montréal Canadiens.

Hockey Hall of Fame honoured member Gilbert Perreault will sign autographs at Frozen Pond in Concord, ON, just north of Toronto. Perreault will sign autographs from 3-4pm on Sunday Aug. 29. In-store signing fees are $25-$40.

Perreault is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canada Sports Hall of Fame. He won back-to-back Memorial Cup championships before being selected first overall in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft – the first-ever selection by the Buffalo Sabres. He spent his entire career with the Sabres and served as the team’s fifth captain from 1981-82 to 1986-87. He is the club’s all-time leading goal scorer with 512 goals.

There are 836 items in the hockeyMedia Collector’s Index, 131 of which were released during his playing career. His rookie cards were issued in 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee and 1970-71 Topps hockey. From 2009-10, there are 100 items, with cards produced by both In The Game and the Upper Deck Company.

The Hartford Whalers Reunion & Fan Fest takes place this Saturday, Aug. 14 in Hartford, CT. The show runs 11am-6pm at Rentschler Field in Hartford, CT. There are numerous autograph guests, including Gordie Howe, Ron Francis, Mike Rogers, and 1979-80 coach Don Blackburn. There will also be the WHA Hall of Fame induction ceremony and a display featuring the MeiGray Group.

The Hartford group wants to rebuild the Whalers brand, with the hopes of bringing NHL hockey back to Connecticut. The Whalers Reunion & Fan Fest is part of a summer schedule that is peaking the interest of local hockey fans. All the summer events build towards next year’s 10-day “Whalers Hockey Fest” which will run 11-20 February. According to WhalersSports.com, that event “promises to be a true blend of pure Whalers nostalgia and the promotion of grassroots, amateur hockey in Connecticut, an outdoor rink will be set up at the 50-yard line of Rentschler Field from February

The Chicago Blackhawks host their third annual Blackhawks Convention this Friday Jul. 30. The convention takes place at the Hilton Chicago with the opening ceremonies starting at 5pm. The Chicago Blackhawks are the reigning 2010 Stanley Cup champions.

Paul Henderson and Vladislav Tretiak will sign autographs this Tuesday Jul. 27 at A.J. Sports World in Vaughan, ON. The duo were stars of the 1972 Summit Series when Canada defeated the Soviet Union in the final minute of the competition. Henderson scored the series winning goal against Tretiak, one of the most memorable moments in Canadian sport history.

Henderson autographs start at $40, with a signed Team Canada jersey costing $300. Tretiak autographs also start at $40, with a signed Soviet Union (CCCP) jersey costing $300. A dual-signed 8×10 photo or puck costs $80 while a dual-signed 16×20 photo costs $130.

The new Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys go on sale this week, starting Tuesday Jun. 15 at the Real Sports Apparel store at 15 York Street in downtown Toronto. The first 150 people to purchase the new jersey will get his autograph signed by new Toronto Maple Leafs’ captain, Dion Phaneuf.

The Maple Leafs unveiled the new look jerseys in early June when they announced Dion Phaneuf as the team’s newest captain. Phaneuf is the 22nd captain in franchise history, the first since Mats Sundin left in 2008.

Frozen Pond has extended the deadline for the private signing session with new Toronto Maple Leafs’ defenceman Dion Phaneuf. Collectors will have up until Apr. 7 to submit their orders for the upcoming signing. This will be Phaneuf’s first signing session since joining the Maple Leafs.

The “Pocket Rocket” Henri Richard will sign autographs on Feb. 27 at A.J. Sports World in Vaughan, ON. The legendary Richard is scheduled to sign autograph starting at 1pm.

Richard won the Stanley Cup 11 times as a player, more than any other player in NHL history. He was part of five-straight Stanley Cup championships from 1956-1960, which were also the last five years of his older brother’s career (Maurice “Rocket” Richard). He then won four more championships in a five-year span from 1965-1969, losing on in the seventh game of the 1967 final to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Richard’s last two titles with the Canadiens came in 1971 and 1973, both times following a championship won by the Bobby Orr-led Bruins. He then retired after the 1975 playoffs at age 39. Incidentally, the Canadiens went on to win four more Stanley Cup titles in the next four years after Richard’s retirement.
