Retired: Brendan Shanahan
Three-time Stanley Cup champion Brendan Shanahan has announced his retirement. Shanahan retires after 21 NHL seasons. He ranked 11th all time with 656 regular-season goals.
Shanahan won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings in 1997, 1998 and 2002. Over his NHL career, Shanahan played for the New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues, Hartford Whalers, Red Wings and New York Rangers.
There are currently 2,931 items on the Brendan Shanahan Collector Index. Shanahan’s Collector Index should surpass 3,000 later this year. His rookie cards are 1988-89 O-Pee-Chee #122 and 1988-89 Topps #122. There are Shanahan cards included in 2009-10 O-Pee-Chee, Upper Deck Artifacts and Upper Deck Black.
