Milwaukee Admirals Garage Sale

The Milwaukee Admirals’ annual garage sale will take place this Wednesday and Thursday Jun. 2-3 at the West Atrium of the Bradley Center. Admirals fans who have season tickets for the upcoming 2010-11 season will get first viewing at 4pm; one hour later they will be joined by existing season ticket holders who have yet to renew for 2010-11. The Wednesday event runs 4-8pm.

On Thursday, the garage sale is open to the general public from 11am-7pm.

According to the Admirals, “the most intriguing items available at this year’s garage sale will be a selection of the original dasher boards that were installed at the Bradley Center when the building opened in 1988 and replaced prior to the start of last season. The boards, which do not include the glass, come in approximately six to seven foot sections and are on sale for $1,500 per section.

In addition to the boards, the Admirals will have their special game-worn blue jerseys on sale as well as autographed locker nameplates. Other items for sale include the team’s game-worn road jerseys from the 2009-10 season and other game-used equipment such as gloves, pads, and skates. In addition to the equipment there will be steep discounts on all Admirals merchandise, with many items priced at $20 or less, as well as promotional items from previous years and copies of the Admirals All Access Season Three DVD.

The pictures that adorn the Admirals locker room, the Ads pictures on the Bradley Center Suite Level, and the pictures from the Admirals East Atrium display box will also be available.”

Canadian Hockey League raise $30,000 for veterans

The Canadian Hockey League has announced that it raised $30,000 for the Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund through its recent 2010 Memorial Cup auction. The auction featured game-worn jerseys of the Brandon Wheat Kings, a special set that was worn for the opening match of the 2010 Memorial Cup in Brandon, MB.

Poppy funds are spent to support veterans and their families, buy hospital equipment, support cadet groups, and provide student bursaries. Commemorative jerseys worn by the last three hosts of the MasterCard Memorial Cup including the Brandon Wheat Kings, the Rimouski Océanic, and the Kitchener Rangers have cumulatively generated over $90,000 for the fund.

The commemorative jerseys were designed by the CHL in conjunction with the Brandon Wheat Kings in honour of the Canadian Army, specifically the men and women past, present, and future of CFB Shilo. CFB Shilo is Manitoba’s only army base and is located approximately 20 minutes from Westman Place, home of the Wheat Kings.

CHL players added to EA NHL 11 video game

Next season’s EA Sports NHL-NHLPA video game will feature Canadian Hockey League junior players for the first time. Players from teams in the three regional leagues – Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Québec Major Junior Hockey League – will be featured alongside NHL players in the new season’s video game.

“The CHL is very excited to partner with an industry leader like EA SPORTS to create a brand new way for CHL fans to associate with their favourite CHL teams and players while playing one of the best sports games in the world,” said David Branch, President, CHL. “This opportunity also provides EA SPORTS fans around the world the ability to learn more about the next wave of NHL stars as they compete in the best development league in the world.”

Wheat Kings Memorial Cup jerseys

The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced they will wear special commemorative jerseys when they open the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Brandon, MB this Friday May 14. The “specially-designed” jerseys will be worn for the May 14 match against OHL champion Windsor Spitfires, who are also the reigning Memorial Cup champions from 2009.

While the game is in action, fans can bid on these jerseys to take them home and add them to their collection. The auction starts at 7pm, the same time the puck drops on the 2010 Memorial Cup competition. The auction closes 11 days later at 9pm on May 25. Proceeds from the auction go towards the Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund, supporting veterans and their families.

In The Game redemptions at the Expo

The redemption program will run all three days of the weekend show at the Toronto International Centre on Airport Road.
