HEROES OF YEAR TWO

The New York Americans missed the playoffs in their second NHL season. The team’s 1926-27 stars included Billy Burch, Lionel Conacher and Red Green. The famous Newsy Lalonde also played his final NHL game for this team. The team’s goalie was Jake Forbes.

HALL OF JERSEYS

Eleven former members of the Americans are today honoured members of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Those 11 stars are Billy Burch, Charlie Conacher, Lionel Conacher, Red Dutton, Harvey Jackson, Chuck Rayner, Sweeney Schriner, Joe Simpson, Hooley Smith, Nels Stewart and Roy Worters.
